Botulinum toxin is used to help improve dynamic lines and wrinkles.  For example, frown lines, crow’s feet, gummy smile and lip lines.
Anti-wrinkle treatment with Botulinum toxin A is effective and safe. It is widely used with the aim of making you look more youthful. Botulinum toxin A is a prescription only medication and requires a face to face consultation with a prescribing medical practitioner.

The treatment works by relaxing the underlying facial muscles that cause your skin to crease and wrinkle. A common misconception is that the aim of toxin therapy is to paralyze the muscles in the face. While this can happen with large amounts of toxin, most practitioners will only inject just the amount that allows you to have some limited activity while still smoothing out the skin. The aim is not to remove all your facial expressions, but to prevent the extreme, unconscious frowns that cause the skin creases. Once relaxed, your skin smooths out and lines are softened.

We aim to leave a natural, fresh, pleasing appearance and avoid the mask like, unnatural and glossy appearance often associated with overuse or inappropriate placement. The results last up to 3 to 4 months.

At your appointment full details of the treatment/s, possible complications and side effects and after care will all be discussed thoroughly.  This treatment is administered by an injection, so therefore side effects such as bruising, and pinprick marks may be experienced.
